On July 25, 2024, the Lieutenant Governor was officially inducted as a full member of the Royal 22nd Regiment, the oldest French-speaking infantry regiment in Canada.

This solemn ceremony, marked by great dignity, was distinguished by the remarkable openness of the Royal 22nd Regiment to the integration of First Nations traditions, notably through the erection of a tipi and the holding of a smudging ceremony.

This symbolic act embodied a true gesture of reconciliation — or, more precisely, of "réconcili-action," in the words of the Lieutenant Governor. It is with pride and humility that she joined this great family, saluting the courage, rigour, and history that forge the identity of the Royal 22nd Regiment.
