Honorary Patronage
Honorary patronage represents the moral and symbolic support extended by the Lieutenant Governor of Québec to organizations and events that make a meaningful contribution to Québec society.
It represents neither financial support, nor automatic attendance, nor active involvement on the part of the Lieutenant Governor. It is rather a mark of recognition intended to highlight the importance of the work carried out by non-profit organizations active in the cultural, educational, social, community, and heritage sectors, as well as in the areas of health and youth.
Eligibility Criteria
An organization may submit a patronage request if :
- It is a non-profit organization recognized for its integrity and ethical values;
- It works in a field of public interest;
- It is organizing an event of regional or national scope that benefits the community;
- It has no partisan, exclusively religious, or commercial affiliation.
What Patronage Means
Honorary patronage:
- Reflects the Lieutenant Governor's respect for and interest in a cause or event;
- Does not guarantee the presence or participation of the Lieutenant Governor;
- Should not be interpreted as an official endorsement or material support.
How to Apply
Interested organizations must submit a written request including:
- A letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor of Québec;
- A description of the organization and its mission;
- Details of the event or activity;
- The reasons motivating the patronage request.
Requests must be submitted at least three months before the event takes place.
Terms of Use
The organization must:
- Obtain written authorization to use the name or title of the Lieutenant Governor;
- Comply with the communications guidelines provided by the Cabinet;
- Uphold the values and neutrality of the vice-regal office throughout the process;
- Acknowledge that patronage may be withdrawn at any time should the conditions no longer be met.

- Le Concours national de création d’un vitrail commémoratif destiné à l’église de Brouage en collaboration avec la Fondation Macdonald Stewart
