Honorary Aides-de-Camp Training Day
On October 25, 2024, the Cabinet organized a first training day for honorary aides-de-camp, held within the Abenaki community of Odanak.
This gathering served as an opportunity to revisit the foundations of the honorary aide-de-camp role: neutrality, impartiality, professionalism, and the position of ambassador for the institution. It also highlighted the importance of their contribution to the visibility of the vice-regal function, while raising awareness of Indigenous realities.
Participants had the opportunity to experience a cultural immersion, including a smudging ceremony and open, candid conversations about the contemporary realities of First Nations peoples.
This day helped forge strong and caring bonds between Cabinet members and honorary aides-de-camp, combining the requirements of protocol with an openness to perspectives that are essential for a deeper understanding of Québec today.
A gathering that proved to be a true example of reconciliation in action.
