Cadets in Official Ceremonies

With a clear desire to bring the institution closer to youth and to recognize the potential of tomorrow's leaders, the Honourable Manon Jeannotte wanted to give young people from the Cadet program the opportunity to participate actively in medal presentation ceremonies and other ceremonial events, on the same footing as aides-de-camp.

On December 1, 2024, the initiative was officially launched at a King Charles III Coronation Medal presentation ceremony in Saint-Hubert, in the Montérégie region — a first in the history of the Cabinet.

Since then, Cadets have been present at more than 20 medal presentation ceremonies and other events.

This initiative aims to offer these young people a unique opportunity to live meaningful and formative experiences, while sharpening their sense of leadership, discipline, and civic engagement.

The integration of Cadets also reflects the importance the Lieutenant Governor places on intergenerational transmission and the active participation of youth in civic and institutional life — in the spirit of the First Nations principle that every decision or action should be taken with consideration for its influence on the seven generations to come.
